In 2007, Vatel, 1st Worldwide Business School Group in Hospitality & Tourism Management, created a completely unique program called Marco Polo : this program enables the 30 Vatel Schools throughout the world to allow their students to carry out a school year in another Vatel School. These students take the same courses as that they would have in their home school, transposed in another cultural context.Much more than just an international exchange, Marco Polo Program allows students: - to become fluent in another foreign language, - to prove to themselves that they are able to cope with and embrace life in another country, - to acquire new professional knowledge in the international Hospitality and Tourism Management industry, - to discover different methods of teaching, - to become familiar with other management processes in a different cultural context, - to better understand the expectations of international clients with whom they will be working in their future managerial positions, - to become prepared to manage employees with other cultural backgrounds. Thus, the students become much more mature while quickly assimilating other types of know-how, ways of living and conduct that will increase their employability. This cosmopolitan experience reinforces itself as Vatel also encourages students to continue their Marco Polo experience by doing an internship in the country of the hosting school. This academic, cultural and linguistic wealth allows students to return to their home schools better armed and more efficient.During their stay, students enjoy a double sponsorship: the first by the home school to keep in touch and give feedback to fellow students, and the second in the hosting school to promote integration.
