Mr. Mackay is Executive Vice President at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
Named to the position in March 2017, he is responsible for the brand's standards and strategy, as well as overseeing customer experience and sales channel effectiveness.
With over four decades of high-level hospitality experience, Mr. Mackay was most recently President of Operations (Asia-Pacific) for Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, after spending more than 20 years as a General Manager and Regional Vice-President with the group in both the U.S.A. and Hong Kong.
Mr. Mackay has also held leadership positions in the UK, Canada, Italy, and Japan, and was responsible for multiple hotel openings. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from the University of Surrey (U.K.), and a Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance from the University of Westminster. He was a Board Member of the Hong Kong Tourism Board from 2010 to 2014, and Chairman of its Staff and Finance Committee from 2013 to 2014.
