Campaign - Dinesh KUNDER - Operation Manager

Throughout his career in the hospitality industry, Dinesh Kunder has consistently demonstrated his professional and philanthropic qualities – and continues to illustrate them to this day in his position as Director of Operations at the Park Inn by Radisson York City Centre in the UK.

Described as competent and professional, Dinesh has an eye for detail – something that helped him to identify and prevent a possible data breach that could have had a major negative effect on the brand reputation of Radisson Hotel Group. It’s a trait that also serves Dinesh well in his close monitoring of ReviewPro – allowing him to proactively take positive steps to maintain the highest possible standards at the hotel while addressing any issues that arise.

Constantly seeking to make sure that hotel systems and processes work together to achieve the best results, Dinesh takes on any challenge necessary – including guaranteeing the smooth and efficient running of departments missing their own senior leaders while vacancies were still open. Notably, he supported the Front Office and Engineering departments, which led to the hotel achieving scores of 97% and 91%, with the Engineering Audit scoring 87% (even in the absence of a Chief Engineer). He was also able to oversee the renewal of the property’s SafeHotels Alliance certification during the recent SYS audits.

In order to increase revenue and exceed company KPIs, Dinesh has developed a rapport with some of the hotel’s longer-term guests and appreciates the need to provide a more varied menu in the restaurant to retain their loyalty. To deliver this, he worked with the Head Chef on a series of ‘specials’ and helped the restaurant team to, where practical, respond to their specific requests. This flexibility meant the guests spent their ‘allowance’ at the hotel, boosting overall F&D revenues.

Many at the hotel regard Dinesh as a key figurehead for the Responsible Business program, and the Area Responsible Business representative acknowledges him as one of the most active Operations Managers. Prime examples of his philanthropic work include participating in a ‘sleep out’ at the York Racecourse in aid of the homeless, organizing a car wash at the hotel, and arranging the donation of duvets and pillows to the local charity for recovering addicts. He is also proactive in seeking out Responsible Business projects and is a strong supporter of the SOS Children’s Villages project.

Dinesh is a highly driven and ambitious man, who has continuously dedicated himself to his team members, his community and to Radisson Hotel Group.
