The neighbourhood-lifestyle brand pentahotels is introducing a new innovative and exciting category of rooms – the penta PlayerPad, a true gamers’ paradise.
pentahotels represents a new generation of hotels. Known for its unique interior design and “neighbourhood” feel, the lifestyle brand stands for true innovation in the industry’s 4-star segment. With 27 hotels across seven countries on two continents, pentahotels offers individual and business travellers comfort and style in a relaxed atmosphere. The hallmark of the hotel chain is the pentalounge - a combination of lounge, bar, café and reception – that stands out with its "living room" look and feel.
Alastair Thomann, pentahotels’ Managing Director, created this new and fresh hotel concept with his fellow enthusiasts. With this revolutionary approach, pentahotels sets new standards in the hotel industry. Now, almost 10 years after the hotel chain’s successful relaunch, pentahotels introduced its brand new concept for trendy rooms: the penta PlayerPad.
Equipped with football tables, retro game machine, Sony Playstation4 or pinball machines, the gamers’ paradise brings the pentalounge-style entertainment to the hotel rooms. And to top it all off, room service offers everything the gamer could want to eat: tasty club sandwiches, fresh pizza and the classic “pentaburger” can be delivered to the room. Many of these delicious treats are even available 24/7, making pentahotels the one and only destination in many locations that caters to its neighbourhood’s cravings around the clock.
The idea for this new concept room originates from pentahotels’ entertainment philosophy. Entertainment is the key to those who travel and would like to connect and relax. From its beginning, pentahotels included free-of-charge pool tables, retro gaming machines, video game consoles, and a matching comfort-food & beverages concept. This laid-back concept makes every traveler feel comfortable in a stylish atmosphere, linking directly into the overall brand strategy.
The stylish rooms were first launched in Brussels and Liège and will open its doors in Paris in October 2016. With the penta PlayerPad, the brand aims to further expand their position as a key trendsetter in the innovative hotel segment and to strengthen its brand positioning. The feedback from customers has been extremely positive and thus, more of the 5086 rooms worldwide will be equipped with gamer consoles and similar gadgets very soon. The goal is to have all pentahotels equipped with the new pads by 2017. An investment budget has been settled and implementation plans approved.
By 2020, pentahotels strives to operate 80 hotels around the world. With the penta PlayerPad, this aggressive global expansion strategy will bring further success to the brand. With an efficiency of having rooms booked early, an exceeded average occupancy, a high revenue obtained and guests willing to pay premium and thus increasing the average daily room rate, the unique concept ties directly into the brand’s profitable strategy.
