A French national, Joël Belouet started his career in hospitality many years ago, in 1967 in Orleans, France. After several positions as Commis or Demichef de rang in France, Switzerland and Monaco, in 1971, Belouet moved to Germany. And in March 1974, he joined at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski München as Demichef de Rang in the Restaurant Walterspiel. Later, he joined the bar team where he has remained ever since, and today he’s the Lobby Supervisor, and one of the hotel’s well known and loved personalities who has served and pampered well know personalities such as Jacques Chirac, Aga Khan, Queen Silvia of Sweden, Jean-Paul Belmondo and Alain Delon to name a few.

During a career spanning forty years at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, Belouet has been sharing his specialist knowledge and inviting guests to discover the fine art of tea. Belouet has dedicated himself to discovering everything one can know about tea; he shares his knowledge freely and inspires others to become connoisseurs. For the “Tea Master Gold” certification, Joël Belouet travelled to Sri Lanka, a renowned tea making country. There, he learned how to savour and appreciate diverse aromas of teas, and indeed everything about the origin, fabrication, preparation and storage of teas. His dedication and ability to share his skills are inspiring to the hotel's employees and particularly apprentices, for whom he always has time.

In March 2014 Joel Belouet was awarded as employee of the month, in recognition for his enormous contribution and passion for creating a refined atmosphere in the hotel’s elegant Lobby. He is a role-model, especially for our younger employees, because he shows them what true luxury hospitality is all about. In fact, six time Kempinski General Manager, Stephan Kaminski, started his hotel career with Joel well over 30 years ago. His positive attitude and helpfulness make him the Grand Seigneur of the Lobby at the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski.
