Laureate of the 2013 Hospitality Schools Awards in the "Best Hotel Management School" category, the world famous Lausanne Hotel School has more than 2,000 students who are passionate in service and from nearly 90 different countries, an excellent campus and internationally renowned teaching.
At the end of the 19th century, Swiss tourism experienced significant growth and the need for competent and qualified staff was felt in this area. In 1893, Jacques Tschumi, an influential member of the Swiss Hotel Association (SSH), founded the first hotel school in the world to meet the demand for quality. Ambassador for the tradition of hospitality of the host country, Switzerland, Lausanne Hotel School (EHL) is thus a pioneer in training for careers in hospitality since the year 1863. In over a century of its existence, the school has been able to create and inspire a unique professional community of more than 25,000 leaders in the hospitality industry, all united by the legacy and values that was taught to them by the hotel School of Lausanne.
Today, the institution has become a global standard and offers three major university-level programs to students from around the world who are engaging in international careers in the hospitality industry. The three programs are: Diploma in Hotel and Catering Management, aimed at those with at least one year of professional experience in the hotel or restaurant industry who wish to reinvigorate their careers or become entrepreneurs in the hospitality sector; the Bachelor of Science HES- SO in hospitality, open to students who have obtained (or are about to obtain ) a secondary education diploma that gives access to universities; and the Master Program ( executive MBA in Hospitality Administration ) for job candidates who work in the hospitality industry and wish to advance in their careers. The establishment also offers training for managers to improve their competitiveness in the hospitality industry, offering various middle and senior management modules that address the most important issues for the economic environment.
