The Twitter phenomenon is growing. This new social network allows surfers to send mini-messages around the world. And little by little, the little bird has built its nest… to such an extent that the world of tourism - with hotel groups in the lead - are exploring the ways to use Twitter to divulgate their promotions and dialogue with clientele. After the irrepressible success of Facebook, web 2.0 gave rise to a new meteorite: the community network Twitter. In the midst of a blogosphere that is increasingly well-fed, this mini-message social website is meeting with unparalleled success. Proof of the scale this medium has attained, growth in use has reached, according to a Hitwise survey made last September, the astronomic volume of 1,170% in one year in the United States. Of course its market share is still far from that of the giant Facebook (2% versus 59%), but Twitter succeeded in finding its position in the Top 5 of social networks. A little tweet is sometimes better than a long discourse and the brevity of messages - 140 characters maximum -does not exclude a certain efficiency for communicating news.
