Marriott's boutique hotel brand should be enriched by a new address in the United States in the Second semester 2018. The property's developers have just secured 260 million dollars in financing, which will allow the Edition Hotel West Hollywood to rise out of the ground starting next spring.
The address will strengthen the international portfolio of the brand's new lifestyle collection Edition, which currently includes four hotels: New York, Miami, London and Istanbul. Other properties are currently under development and will allow the brand to establish itself in destinations such as Abu Dhabi (2016), Sanya in China (2016), Bangkok (2016), New York (2018), Reykjavik (2018), Wuhan in China (2019) and Bali (2019).
On January 1, 2015, Marriott Hotels International was the third ranking hotel group worldwide in terms of number of rooms with 701,899 units in 4,117 properties, according to figures published by MKG Hospitality. The Marriott group is likely to become the leading operator worldwide by next year, once the merger with Starwood Hotels & Resorts is finalized.
