
Panama will see its first hotel under Starwood’s W flag when the W Panama opens in 2016, marking the brand’s debut in Central America. The hotel will be located in the capital's busy financial district as part of a mix-use 50-storey building.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts has announced the upcoming 203-room W Panama, set to open in early 2016. W Hotels Worldwide thus makes its debut in Central America. The hotel will form part of the Evolution Tower, a 50-floor mix-use building which includes office spaces. "Panama continues to see strong growth in both business and tourism development given its strategic location between North and South America and ease of access from around the world," said Osvaldo Librizzi, Co-President of the Americas, Starwood Hotels & Resorts.W Panama will mark Starwood's ninth hotel in Panama. The W brand continues to focus on expansion around the world, having announced upcoming properties in Guangzhou, Milan, Shanghai, Bangkok and Mumbai as part of the group’s wider growth strategy.
