With its airport and many low-cost connections (which represent about 50% of the air traffic), Valencia has connections to many destinations in Germany, the United Kingdom and Central European countries. Its shoreline also attracts a growing number of cruise passengers. In addition to leisure tourism, Valencia also wants to position itself on the business tourism sector and the MICE market with the development of quality infrastructures such as the Palacio de Congresos.
In 2016, Valencia’s chain supply fell (-4.5%) for the second consecutive year (-5.5% in 2015).
In 2016, Valencia posted an occupancy rate of 68.2%, up 3.5 points. The average rate also recorded strong growth (+9.4%), enabling the RevPAR to surge by 15.3% to 52.8€.
