Trudy Rautio Replaces Hubert Joly as Carlson CEO

Following the resignation of Hubert Joly, Carlson has appointed Trudy Rautio as Chief Executive Officer. The former is to pursue other career opportunities.

Minnesota-based hospitality and travel company Carlson has announced the resignation of Hubert Joly and appointment of Trudy Rautio to replace him in the role of president and CEO. Rautio was appointed by the board of directors and is the fifth CEO to be elected by the company in its 74-year history.Previously Rautio served as a president of Carlson Hotels Worldwide, The Americas for 15 years. She also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for eight years and has been responsible for directing all financial and information technology operations of the company. She serves on the boards of Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) and The Rezidor Hotel Group as well as on the board of directors for Securian Holding Company and Imation.A graduate of Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota, Rautio holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of St. Thomas and is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Management Accountant. She has won, amongst others, the 2004 Corporate Woman of achievement award by the National Association of Women Business Owners’ (NAWBO) Minneapolis Chapter.Carlson’s portfolio includes over 1,300 hotels in operation and development under the Radisson Blu, Radisson, Park Plaza, Park Inn by Radisson, Country Inns & Suites by Carlson, and Hotel Missoni brands; more than 900 restaurants, and a majority stake in Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
