
The City of Light is decidedly living a prosperous period. Its popularity among foreign clienteles allows it to post spectacular growth in its RevPar by 15.9% on the last 12 months. Of course it is the upmarket supply leading this uptrend. However, all categories post fine growth in their rates (+7.3%) that combine with an occupancy rate that is shooting up (+6.2 pts). As summer approached things took off, with an already excellent month of June doped by the Air Show at Bourget. July was in the trajectory of the extension of this takeoff. Bad weather largely benefited urban tourism, backed by business travel that has been active in July for several years now (only in August could any slackening off be felt on this plan). In the end, all the key indicators on the sector have posted steady growth for one year. Paris’s future looks promising...
