The 230-room hotel is the first Crowne Plaza hotel in Hungary.

Following a management agreement between InterContinental Hotels Group and Granit Polus Group, the Hilton Budapest West End hotel will become a Crowne Plaza hotel in 2021.

The property is located in the Castle District, near the the city and business center. It is also part of the Westend City Center shopping complex, one of the largest shopping centers in Budapest. It also benefits from a 4-minutes-walk location from Budapest-Nyugati train station. It has 230 fully equipped rooms, 13 meeting rooms, a cafe and a club lounge. It is expected to benefit from major renovations as the Granit Polus Group has announced that € 10 million will be devoted to refurbishment works over the next two years.

IHG saw a strong increase in conversion activity in 2020. Conversions have accounted for 27% of signings so far this year, up from 20% in 2019. Crowne Plaza is an upscale, business-oriented brand with a presence in more than 60 countries. The brand favors locations in busy cities, airports and resorts. The opening of a new Crowne Plaza brand will strengthen InterContinental Hotels Group’s implantation in Hungary.

IHG currently has 2 hotels operating in Budapest under the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts® and Holiday Inn® brands, with Holiday Inn Express Budapest - City Center scheduled to open in 2022.
