October 2022: The French hotel industry is lighting up despite the energy crisis

In the face of recent concerns (energy crisis, inflation, gasoline shortages, eighth wave of Covid...), the French hotel industry confirmed its resilience this month. City breaks, autumn getaways, school holidays, events and business trips... there seemed to plenty of excuses to visit the French hotel industry in October. As a result, at the national level, the occupancy rate practically returned to pre-crisis levels (-1.1 points only). And thanks to an average price that rose by 24.3%, the country enjoyed a 22.4% increase in terms of RevPAR!

This month, occupancy in France stood at 71.5% (-1.1 points relative to 2019): the midscale segment is even back to normal (with a level equal to that of 2019) while the others are also close to their standards (< 2 points).
