IHG chairman ‘to resign’

U.K. newspaper The Sunday Telegraph reported without citing a source that IHG chairman David Webster is set to resign and that a search for a new chairman is underway.

Webster has served as chairman of the Denham, U.K.-based hotel giant since 2004. The article reported that possible replacements include Sir Stuart Rose, former chairman of Marks and Spencer, Allan Leighton, former Royal Mail chairman and Luke Mayhew, a non-executive director at IHG.The news comes about one year after IHG switched CEO when Andrew Cosslett resigned and was replaced by Richard Solomons.
