American-based Travelocity, a leading operator on the Internet travel market, has decided to devote more attention to its development outside the US. A major move was made recently when its parent company, GDS Sabre, took full control over Travelocity Europe, apart from Germany. Consequent-ly, Travelocity is introducing its net rate hotel programme to European consumers and hoteliers. European markets, starting with the UK, will be able to book rooms at negotiated rates at 13,000 hotels that have signed up to the programme for Travelocity in the US. It is claiming that it pays its hoteliers more quickly than its competitors.
