The Airbnb brand has more value than Marriott Hotels, according to the "Global 500 Ranking 2018", established by the consulting firm Brand Finance.
The tourist rental platform appears in 316th position, having risen 151 places compared to its last year's ranking, while the largest hotel group in the world is in 322nd position, a slight improvement of five places. In addition, Airbnb ranks only 39 positions behind Hilton Hotels, which currently ranks 277th after dropping 106 spots in a year.
Among the 500 most-valued brands, Booking.com is at the 165th place, improving its position by 33 places, and many airlines like Boeing (ranked 64th), Airbus (140th), Delta (177th) or American Airlines (242th). Emirates outperforms Southwest Airlines (332th) and becomes the first non-US airline with the highest brand value.
Royal Caribbean (475th), a Miami-based shipping company, is the only one of the tourism business on the list which is not related to aerospace or the hotel sector.
