
Pebblebrook Hotel Trust has acquired the walls of the W Los Angeles – Westwood from Starwood. The hotel group has announced it will continue to manage the hotel under its W brand.
Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide has announced the sale of W Los Angeles – Westwood has been finalised. Pebblebrook Hotel Trust acquired the property for $125 million. As part of the sale, the real estate investment fund has agreed to continue with the planned property renovations. The luxury, 258-room hotel will continue to be managed by Starwood under the W flag, having entered a 40-year management agreement."We continue to pursue opportunities to sell our owned real estate at the right time to the right owners in the best interest of shareholders," said Simon Turner, President of Global Development for Starwood.Pebblebrook also owns Starwood-run properties The Westin Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego, the W Boston and the Sheraton Delfina Santa Monica. The company acquires and invests primarily in upper upscale, full service hotels; its portfolio consists of 18 wholly-owned hotels and 49 percent joint venture interest in 6 others.
