Pierre-Frédéric Roulot, General Manager Jin Jiang Europe, confirmed, with Reuters, the Chinese group's intention to acquire hotels positioned on the luxury segment, preferably in the continent's star destinations. This approach would allow it to establish the upscale brand MetroPolo, currently only present in China, in Europe along with other luxury brands that are in the pipeline of Louvre Hotels Group.
Louvre Hotels Group has also confirmed its success among Chinese clientele since its acquisition by the most important Chinese hotel group and 5th operator worldwide. "Arrivals of Chinese tourists is down France, but in our hotels nights are up by 8% to 10% this year," the president was pleased to announce to Reuters. All the more so because of the recent announcement of its partnership with the payment card UnionPay, Louvre Hotels Group now has a new argument to attract Chinese clientele. In France, the number of visitors from the Middle Empire should reach 1.8 million in 2016, after reaching 2.2 million in 2015.
Backed by the financial strength of Jin Jiang International, Louvre Hotels Group also announced it wanted to open close to 250 properties in China by the year 2020, particularly under the brands Campanile and Golden Tulip. On the French market, 26 new openings are scheduled for 2017.
