Hotel Groups Pursue Expansion in Chile

Marriott International is pursuing expansion in Chile with the debut of its Courtyard by Marriott brand and the opening of the Renaissance Santiago Hotel, scheduled for 2014 and 2013 respectively. The announcement follows the opening of the Radisson Petra Concepción Hotel, Carlson-Rezidor Group’s sixth hotel in Chile, earlier this month.

Marriott International has announced its Courtyard by Marriott brand is set to debut in Chile with the opening of a new 200-room property in the business district of Las Condes, where the existing 280-room Santiago Marriott is also located. The new Courtyard by Marriott hotel is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2014. In addition Marriott operates the 205-room The Ritz-Carlton, Santiago.Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group also recently celebrated the opening of the 127-room Radisson Petra Concepción Hotel, the group’s sixth hotel in the country.
