
As it prepares to welcome events with international reach, such as the World Expo 2020, the Emirate of Dubai expects to double its tourist arrivals to host more than 20 million visitors per year, versus some 10 million today. To satisfy the needs of this new demand, the destination must grow and adapt its offer by diversifying it. Several measures have been taken to double the hotel supply in the years to come, in particular on the economy and midscale segments which currently account for a minority share on the market.
