Plan d'expansion Disneyland Paris

During a meeting with the President of the French Republic, Robert A. Iger, President and CEO of The Walt Disney Company, announced a €2 billion development plan ($1.6 billion) for Disneyland Paris from 2021.

This new expansion plan includes a transformation of Walt Disney Studios Park, including three new theme zones dedicated to Marvel, The Snow Queen and Star Wars, as well as several new attractions and shows.

Representing one of the most ambitious developments in the history of Disneyland Paris since its opening in 1992, it reflects The Walt Disney Company's long-term commitment to making the destination the showcase of the brand in Europe.

"We are very excited about the future of Disneyland Paris and continue to invest in its long-term success," said Robert A. Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company. "Disneyland Paris is already the leading tourist destination in Europe. With this new development and transformation plan, we will continue to highlight our unique storytelling expertise and iconic characters in the creation of new theme areas, attractions and shows, thus enhancing the quality of our visitors' experience and creating new opportunities in this dynamic region ".

The new theme areas will incorporate Disney's most popular stories and characters, continuing the momentum generated by the success of the 25th Anniversary.

The creative vision of the project includes a new lake that will be the scene of new shows and will link the three new thematic zones of the Park.

The destination has also just completed a two-year renovation program, which will allow for the modernization of flagship attractions in the Parks. In addition, the destination's hotel area has also been renovated to reflect the Disney's Newport Bay Club.

"This is our biggest investment for the theme park since it opened in 1992," explains Robert A. Iger in a video shot and shared by the Élysée. This is "the result of our growing confidence in the European and French economy in particular," he continues.

Disneyland Paris, Europe's leading tourist destination, has two theme parks, seven hotels with a capacity of 5.800 rooms, plus 2.700 rooms in the Partner & Associated Hotels (8.500 rooms), two convention centres and a golf course. The destination has a total of 59 attractions, 63 shops and 55 restaurants. It employs approximately 16,000 people.
