The Irish hotel group is in exclusive negotiations too take over its rival Moran Bewley Hotel Group, at the head of 10 properties in Ireland and the United Kingdom.

Dalata Hotel Group, which operates the chain Maldron Hotels in Ireland, is pursuing acquisitions in the British Isles. The Irish hotel group would thus be in exclusive negotiations to take over one of its competitors, Moran Bewley Hotel Group. The transaction would bear on an estimated sum of 450 million euros.

By taking over Moran Bewley Group, Dalata would take control over a portfolio of ten properties operating in Ireland and the United Kingdom, including the Silver Springs Moran Hotel in Cork, Bewley's Hotel Dublin Airport, Bewley's Hotel Leopardstown in Dublin, and Red Cow Moran Hotel in Dublin.

The Irish group has nonetheless announced that it remains uncertain about an agreement as other American investors have expressed their interest in taking over the Moran Bewley Hotel Group, such as Starwood Capital and Marathon Asset Management.
