
With the new four-star Centara Poste La Fayette Resort & Spa, set to open in December 2012, the company debuts in Mauritius and opens a property in its sixth international location.
Thailand-based Centara Hotels & Resorts is expanding internationally having signed a management contract with a four-star property on the northeast coast of the island of Mauritius. The property is owned by property developer Indian Ocean Real Estate Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of GML The new resort is located on the Poste Lafayette and will offer 100 rooms when it opens in December 2012. It will bring the company’s portfolio of resorts to 55, the majority of which are located in Thailand and neighbouring region.“This is a very significant move for Centara, as it marks a strategic step into a tourism market that we feel has very exciting potential,” said Thirayuth Chirathivat, Chief Executive Officer of Centara Hotels & Resorts.
