Despite the health crisis, the Ascent Hotel Collection, developed by Choice Hotels International, welcomes new properties to its network.

The upscale brand welcomed seven hotels in the first half of the year and plans to add ten more in the near future.

Mark Shalala, Senior Vice President of Premium Brand Development at Choice Hotels, said:

During the Great Recession, Choice grew faster than the industry's overall offering due to an increase in hotel conversions, which was particularly true for Ascend. Since then, the brand has grown 600% per unit between 2010 and 2019, and continues to see steady growth today as owners of independent and boutique hotels turn to Choice to improve the delivery of their bookings, reduce customer acquisition costs and improve their revenue management tools. At the same time, Ascend outperformed the premium segment in the first half of the year, proving its durability to owners and customers.

Among the properties recently added to the portfolio is:

  • Carvi Hotel New York, located in Manhattan,
  • Chandler to White Moutains, located in New Hampshire,
  • The Freeport Hotel, located on Interstate 295 in Freeport,
  • The Gin Hotel, located in downtown Lexington,
  • The Port Inn and Cottages, located in the historic centre of Port Saint Joe.

Ascend Hotel Collection has a portfolio of over 315 properties worldwide. Hoteliers' adherence to this "soft brand" concept ensures a global presence while maintaining a unique character.
