In keeping with its motto "Work hard, Play hard", the brand asked the designer Mathieu Lehanneur to create meeting rooms that combine work and relaxation.
Implemented at the Pullman London St Prancras in November 2013, "Business Playground" is developed around three key elements. The "Pullman Poker Table" takes inspiration from the game to become the key element for meetings of small groups and to inspire participation. "There are two ways to sit at a meeting table: leaning against the backrest of the chair, or leaning forward on your forearms. The difference between the two is not without meaning. It says a lot about our relation to others and about what's happening in the meeting. By bringing comfort and a certain suppleness to the table itself, I wanted to instill in each person the desire to participate and be at the heart of the debate, to go from passive to active, from spectator to participant.... Through a subtle shift from casino to meeting room, the Pullman Poker Table gives meetings a new dynamic and reconciles the concepts of work and play!" explains Mathieu Lehanneur. The Pullman "Canopy Break" was designed like a bubble as a space for pausing or informal discussions. "Between two meetings, the "Canopy Break" Pullman offers an escape that is both digital and inspired by nature. Designed for rest but also informal talks, the Pullman "Canopy Break " feels like another place... out of doors, in the shade of the trees," specifies Mathieu Lehanneur. Finally, Pullman "Curiosity Boxes" offer an invitation to travel to new places via an unusual object left in the meeting room, a book, an idea in this contemporary curiosity cabinet.
The "Business Playground" meeting room concept will be progressively deployed throughout the Pullman network in more than 80 properties around the world.
