Myanmar is revamping its tourist infrastructure

In parternship with the government of Norway and the Asian Development Bank, the government of Myanmar has announced plans for a 500 million USD investment in its tourism infrastructure.

The government of Myanmar has announced plans to invest 500 million USD to update its tourism infrastructure. The plan will be implemented in partnership with the government of Norway and the Asian Development Bank.The capstone of the development plan includes establishing a Tourism Executive Coordination Board to bring various tourism-related agencies under one roof. The plan also outlines new tourist police infrastructure.Myanmar’s development plan will include 38 projects that target all modes of transportation. To encourage more visitors coming in by plane, there will be a focus on expanding capacity for the Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw airports. To encourage more cruises, there will be improvements on the Bagan river pier. Plans also of course include building more roads in high tourist density areas.
