All indicators are green for Germany at the beginning of this year, with 4.4% growth in the number of nights of foreign visitors in the first months of the year.

With 13.3 million foreign visitor nights (at properties with more than 10 beds) during the first quarter 2014, Germany posts satisfactory growth in its incoming tourism. This figure corresponds to a 4.4% increase over the same period last year according to the German Federal Bureau of Statistics.

Germany's primary supply markets are European, and post global growth by 3.4%, representing ten million nights. Italians (+6.4%), Austrians (+4%) and French (+2.9%) have largely contributed to this renewed activity, attesting to Germany's appeal to its neighboring countries.

Supply markets on other continents are no exception. The United States (+3%) along with the Emirates and China (respectively +27.6% and +22.7%) post significant growth in Germany.

For business tourism, meanwhile, Germany leads the ICCA (International Congress & Convention Association) ranking in 2013 for International congress destinations in Europe.

The appeal of events, particularly in cities such as Dusseldorf (see our article) is certainly one of the factors of the good health of the sector in the country.
