Carlson Rezidor announces a new address in Moscow; but also: Wyndham Hotel Group, Park Inn by Radisson, Shangri-La, Hôtel F1 in Nantes

Carlson Rezidor announces a new address in Moscow

The hotel group announced the development of the hotel Radisson Blu Olympiysky Moscow. Owned by B&N Group, the 379-room property should welcome its first guests in the first quarter 2017. It will be the group's eighth hotel in the Russian capital, where Carlson Rezidor operates and is currently developing more than 2,000 rooms. In Russia and in the CIS countries in overall, Carlson Rezidor has a portfolio of 59 hotels and 15,200 rooms as well as 18 other properties under development, representing 3,250 rooms.

Wyndham Hotel Group arrives in Vietnam.
The hotel group announced the closing of a contract with Ha Long Star Service & Tourist Joint Stock Company to develop its first hotel in the country, the Wyndham Legend Halong. It is a new-build 217 room structure in the city of Halong scheduled to open at the beginning of 2016.

Park Inn by Radisson grows its presence in Saudi Arabia.
Carlson Rezidor announced the development of the Park Inn by Radisson Makkah Al Naseem, which should open in June 2016. Located in the holy city of Makkah, it will have 463 rooms and will be operated by The Rezidor Hotel Group.

Shangri-La is opting for virtual reality.
The hotel group has turned to Samsung Gear Virtual Reality to supply immersion videos at more than 25% of its 94 hotels and resorts worldwide. By the month of January 2016, close to half of its network will be able to offer the experience to its guests, the rest will follow by the end of the year.

Fatal fire at the Hôtel F1 in Nantes.
In the night from Wednesday to Thursday a fire broke out in the Hôtel F1, located on the Route de Sainte-Luce. Firefighters rapidly controlled it and reported the death of a 26 year old young man. They rescued 65 of the property's other guests, 5 of whom suffered intoxication. The police will lead investigations to discover the cause of the fire.
