The Spanish Basque Country unveils its "Euskadi Basque Country Confidential" brand

Euskadi Basque Country Confidential

In order to promote tourist activity in the Spanish Basque Country, Turismo de Euskadi is launching its territorial brand which highlights the wealth of the destination.

Premium, quality, respectful and sustainable tourism is the focus of the new "Euskadi Basque Country Confidential" brand developed by Turismo de Euskadi, the organisation for the promotion of tourism in the Spanish Basque Country. This new brand is based on the principle that the real wealth of the territory lies in the experience.

At the launch of the brand at the end of April, Turismo de Euskadi also unveiled the accompanying catalogue, which brings together a range of quality tourist services to create a unique experience tailored to visitors' interests and expectations. 85 tourism companies, local businesses and restaurants are already taking part in this initiative.

To differentiate itself from other premium destinations, the tourism promotion body has chosen the name Euskadi Confidential because it "reflects the personality of the destination and more, referring to the exclusive offer that is waiting to be discovered and to which few people have access".

The destination is indeed very rich and varied with the presence of major cities such as Bilbao, San Sebastián and Vitoria-Gasteiz as well as a lush natural heritage with beaches, mountains and also a quality gastronomy with 34 Michelin stars. 

The Basque Country occupies an important position as a premium destination because it meets the requirements of this particular type of visitor, and this is largely due to the destination's reputation.

An initiative that should certainly further strengthen the image of the destination, which already enjoys a good reputation among international tourists. In fact, according to an Ibiltur study on leisure activities, 90% of visitors rate their stay in the Basque Country very positively, and for almost 40% of them it exceeds their expectations. The recommendation rate is close to 100%, and the rate of tourist loyalty is also high.
