Thailand's Hotel Indexes Remain Steady, Despite Flooding

The Hotel Association in Thailand reports that occupancy rates are "normal" despite the sever flooding due to a particularly severe monsoon season.

According to Thai Hotels Association President Prakit Chinamornpong, occupancy rates in Bangkok and Phuket are "at a normal rate of 60% to 70%", indicating that the Thai tourism industry is extremely fortunate.William Heinecke, CEO of Minor International told Bloomberg that "the effect on tourism is minimal.”
