Terry Porter, vice-chairman of the board of directors for the American group, has been elected president of the board of directors at Best Western Hotels and Resorts in 2016.

Terry Porter was elected to the board in November 2013 to represent District I, which includes the states Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Utah and Wyoming. Prior to that, since 1989 he managed the Best Western PLUS Town & Country Inn in Cedar City, Utah - a state where he also worked as brand ambassador.

The board of directors consists of hotelier owners and operators of different Best Western brands. the group continues to be managed by the team of David Kong, president & CEO.

Today, Best Western operates close to 4,000 properties worldwide - more then half of which are in North America. According to data published by MKG Hospitality, the company, based in Phoenix, Arizona, is the eighth hotel group worldwide, operating more than 300,000 rooms.
