This year, the French hotel industry enjoyed a fine month of June, celebrating parents and the Le Mans circuit alike, with a significant impact on the performance of its indicators.
In France as a whole, the hotel industry posted a RevPAR of €115, or 26.2% more than before the health crisis (reference: June 2019). This increase is still explained by a clear rise in ADRs (29.2%), offsetting a slight lag in occupancy, of 1.9 points compared to June 2019. France thus appears to be confirming the travel appetite of French and international clientele alike.
The return of the latter is confirmed by the fact that occupancy in the midscale segment is falling further behind (only -1.5 points difference in occupancy rate versus June 2019). In the other ranges, the budget segment posted a -2.1 point drop in occupancy rate, as did the economy segment. The upper upscale segment is only 2.2 points behind, and still boasts the highest ADRs increase, with a 40.2% rise compared to an average for all niches of 29.2%. Thus, thanks to the general rise in ADRs (29.2%), sales growth ranged from 17.9% (economy) to 36.6% (top-of-the-range).

By contrast, the Regions were unable to catch up with their 2019 occupancy levels, and are slightly behind by 2.3 points. Thanks to an ADR increase of almost 40%, Paris recorded 42.5% growth in RevPAR, well ahead of the Regions and their 18.7%.
Ile-de-France (excluding Paris) and Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur also did very well in June, with increases of 34.1% and 33.8% respectively for these two popular summer destinations. These are also the two regions with the highest ADR increase (+35.8% and +35.4% respectively).
On a more local level, Pays de la Loire came out on top, with RevPAR up 23.9% and ADRs up 24.8%. Indeed, the 24...
