July 2024: a sporting start to the summer for the French hotel industry

July saw the start of the Olympic Games in Paris, as well as the Tour de France, and the French hotel industry performed well overall. While it may not have won the gold medal for visitor numbers, average daily rates are at record levels. Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur is still on top of the podium, but this time alongside Hauts-de-France, which posted record increases this month, as did Ile-de-France.

Although the French hotel industry continued to see a fall in occupancy in July (-1.5 points), the decline was less marked than in the previous month, when it stood at -4.6 points.
