The French hotel business is once again in full swing in January. After a month of December affected by the longest transport strike of the country, the number of hotel guests is back up throughout France. The Upscale and Midscale businesses in Paris are particularly driving growth.

The national occupancy rate (OR) is up +2.0 points at the beginning of the year, which augurs well for growth in the French hotel industry in 2020. It thus rises to 57.8%. The average daily rate (ADR) is rising at a slower pace, which is a first in months when results were moslty driven by rate...
