A not-to-be-missed event for tourism professionals, the ITB Berlin confirmed this status with no fewer than 100,000 participants attending from 4 to 6 March. 87% of the visitors were from abroad, who filled the hotels in the German capital, as the occupancy rate shows. Here's a look back at the 59th edition of this event and its impact on the Berlin hospitality market.

The number of participants at ITB Berlin 2025 is more or less the same as last year, but hotel performance is different. All indicators are up, with the exception of the average daily rate, which is down.

A positive overall picture for Berlin's hotel industry

Although the event was relatively short, its impact had a major impact on the performance of Berlin's hotel industry. Over the 3 days of the show, hotels in the German capital recorded an occupancy rate of 92.1%, a significant increase of +9.1 points compared to the 2024 edition.

Since the number of visitors did not increase drastically between the two editions, we can assume that more of them turned to hotels as accommodation solutions, to the detriment of furnished tourist accommodation.

The high occupancy rate was particularly noticeable on the first day of ITB Berlin, with an occupancy rate of 98%, an increase of 2.6 points. However, the biggest increase was on the last day (+15.1 points), perhaps due to a more attractive conference programme than on previous days.

However, this positive trend is not reflected in the prices charged, with Berlin hoteliers reporting a -5.2% fall in their average daily rate for the event as a whole. The ADR was €170.9. And while the last day saw the biggest rise in occupancy, it also saw the biggest fall in average daily rate (-8%).

Despite an average daily rate below the levels seen in 2024, the high occupancy rate enabled hoteliers to post a 3% increase in RevPAR. This key indicator had a rollercoaster ride, starting with a decline of -2.4% before finally posting double-digit growth (+12.5%).
