The hotel group now offers VRoom Service, to allow its clients to order an in-room virtual reality experience.

Marriott International is testing virtual reality in its hotels. Created through a collaboration with Samsung electronics America, VRoom Service allows guests to test the product by ordering the valise containing a Samsung Gear VR headset. The headset and earphones transport the guest to another dimension for 25 hours, the rental period location of the device. VRoom Service is currently being tested at Marriott Marquis hotels in London and Marriott Park Lane in New York.

At the same time the hotel group launched the virtual travel content platform VR Postcard, that immerses users wearing a virtual reality headset in 3D travel experiences thanks to virtual postcards. Three are currently available for discovering the Andes Mountains in Chile, an ice cream shop in Rwanda and the lively streets of Beijing.

The Oculus Rift already seduced Marriott International a while ago within the during a communications campaign. The hotel group installed "teleportation cabins" using this technology in at York City Hall, to transport passers by for a few minutes:
