At the end of April, Accor will make its IOS AccorHotels application compatible with the Apple Watch. It will make it possible to obtain information about hotel services and the exact time of check-in.
Accor wants to develop its use in the hotel industry. The French group announced that its AccorHotels iOS application would be compatible with the Apple Watch at the end of April. It will make it possible to receive a check-in alert, consult information regarding the reservation (number of guests, number of nights, dates, etc.), or the Le Club Accorhotels loyalty card, to receive information about the hotel's services, weather and consult an interactive map. However, it will not be usable as a room key.
"By launching this Accorhotels application for Apple Watch™, Accor is establishing itself as an audacious digital hospitality player. This policy is part of the group's digital plan, which aims to accompany the changeover to new mobile practices. Accor is thus fully embracing the era of connected wearables and adopting an ongoing improvement approach to this robust market trend so it can provide guests with a value-added service before, during and after their stay," stated Romain Roulleau, SVP e-commerce and director of the "mobile first" program at Accor.
On January 1, 2015, Accor was the leading European hotel group in number of rooms with 267,338 units at 2,486 properties according to MKG Hospitality, consulting firm founded by Georges Panayotis. (Read our report)
