Super 8 Munich City West

Wyndham Worldwide just announced the opening of Germany's first Super 8 hotel in the Bavarian capital. Ten other properties by the brand are currently being developed across the Federal Republic.

The newly-built Super 8 Munich City West Hotel is located in the vicinity of the Nymphenburg Palace, near the S-Bahn station München-Laim. The 168-room hotel has a lounge, a terrace, and a coffee-shop operated in partnership with German company Dallmayr. The pioneering address of the Super 8 brand offers some technological innovation, as guestrooms can be unlocked via smartphone through technology supplied by Munich-based startup Hotelbird.

With close to 2,600 properties, Super 8 is one of the world's largest economy hotel chains - Wyndham Worldwide's brand is especially present in the United States, Canada, and China. On January 1, 2016, the group was the fourth hotel group worldwide and ranked 12th in the EU, with a European portfolio of 37,434 rooms in 291 hotels, according to data published by MKG Consulting.
