After some difficult times, the regional capital of Alsace is back on the right track with some encouraging results. (+3.1% in RevPAR over 12 consecutive months). It is not so much because of a rise in occupancy, as the figures are once more slightly down (-1.1 point), but rather because of a pertinent adjustment of the tariff, which increase is close to 5% over the same period. If the summer is usually not so good for Strasbourg in terms of occupancy rates (The city has undergone an intense study to counterbalance the negative effect), the autumn and even part of the winter were disappointing, despite the constant success of the Christmas markets. But all the indicators are back to green light since the beginning of 2007. And April even reflects a quickening of the growth. The sunny spell comes right on time to crystallize all the hopes generated by the opening of the new High Speed Train track this coming summer. It might well be the trigger of a new tourist expansion for the city.
