The German brand distinguishes itself on its national market with surprising architectural and decorative choices.This is a vision of the hotel industry in which creativity rises up to the ranks of a beacon value, to which other partners have associated themselves.

“Our guests must be able to gain some pleasure from the personal character of the hotel in which they are staying, and not wake up in the morning wondering what town they are in because they cannot tell the difference between our different properties.” This is how Nicolas Meissner, Managing Director of Sorat Hotels, presents the philosophy of the brand, which unites 19 boutique hotels: 9 hotels in management contracts and 10 “partner” properties for a total of 1,860 rooms. It must be said that since 1989, the German chain has invariably bet on design to make the difference and draw attention to properties that share the mid-upscale and superior segments.Despite the economic situation that remains difficult, the brand is not short of projects. “In the years to come, we are planning to expand the group primarily through new partner hotels.” Highly implicated in Berlin, the chain Sorat is decided about enlarging its network to count a hotel in each major German city. Undoubtedly, these hotels will have some conceptual surprises in store as well.This explains why the decoration of the Sorat hotels has nothing academic about it. Each one very carefully avoids the pitfalls of standardisation. The idea is to have hotels that are immediately recognisable and express a strong character. This differentiation policy already presided over the conception of the chain’s very first hotel: the Sorat Art’Hotel, located in the centre of Berlin. Here in France it is considered to a design model and the entire Sorat Park has been founded on this idea.Thus, the Sorat Hotel Humbolt is the result of the conversion of a grain silo.
