The luxurious brand by Accor group chose the economic capital of Morocco to build an eighth hotel in the country.
Thomas Greggory thus left the management of Sofitel Essaouira, putting his experience at the service of the chain in Morocco for the opening of the Sofitel Casablanca Tour Blanche, last July. For its arrival in Casablanca, the chain wanted to pay tribute to the breath of modernity currently blowing through the Kingdom of Morocco biggest city. Designed by Belgian architect Patrick Génard, the Tour Blanche rises up with its glass facade decorated with stylized zillijs in the center of the city’s business district and in the shadow of the Hassan II Mosque. Risma, Accor group’s moroccan affiliate, invested close to 450 million dirham (or about 40 millions euros) to make the hotel a new architectural jewel in Casablanca.Behind the vast windows of the building lies an interior decoration elaborated by the offices of MHNA. Architects Marc Hertrich and Nicolas Adnet met the challenge of incorporating Moresque decorations with simple lines. This design may be found in the 141 hotel rooms and 30 suites between the 5th and 24th floors of the tower, at the top of which is perched an idyllic penthouse with a terrace and outdoor hot tub. The first four floors house all the hotel features, from the So Spa to its two restaurants, L’Arabesque and L’Atelier Oriental, and the bar. Everything is characterized by spaces that open onto one another.
