Shangri-La doubles up in Sri Lanka

The Hong Kong based group has announced the opening of a new Sri Lankan facility in November 2017, Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo.

The Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo is expected to open in November this year. This new development is in partnership with ui.

The hotel has 500 rooms/suites and 41 separate apartments, on a plot that should accommodate a shopping centre and residential dwellings, in a high-end setting. Visitors will enjoy a spa, six restaurants, bars and lounge areas.

For Timothy Wright, Vice President & General Manager of Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo, "tourist arrivals to the island have increased exponentially over the last eight years, and Colombo is positioning itself as the gateway to the destination and all its wonders".
