Capital of Andalusia, Seville is an important centre for business and services in the south of the peninsula, with its rich historic past at the crossroads for Eastern and Western cultures.
Its economic development generated the installation of many transport infrastructures, and the presence of the Guadalquivir River enabled the development of port activity upon which the city was founded. Leisure tourism is well established, but business tourism remains marginal, despite the city’s ambitions.
As of January 1, 2017 the corporate operated chain supply reached 7,800 rooms.
