Hilton has continued the expansion of its DoubleTree Brand in Spain by signing a franchise agreement with Layetana.

Under the franchise deal, the existing La Mola Hotel & Conference Center will become DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel & Conference Center La Mola, 28km away from the Catalan capital of Barcelona. The renovated property is set to open at the beginning of 2013, just a few months after the first DoubleTree location in the country.The 186-guestroom hotel includes a fine-cuisine all-day restaurant. It will also feature 4,500 square meters of meeting space with 26 meeting rooms with a total capacity for over 250 people, two ballrooms, two 54-seat auditoriums and a video conferencing room. The property also adjoins the 17th century Manor House for weddings, celebrations and corporate events. The spa and fitness area offers five treatment rooms, a fitness room, an indoor swimming pool, and a large outdoor swimming pool.“The DoubleTree by Hilton brand has experienced unprecedented growth in Europe with more than 55 hotels operating or in development across the region and we’re delighted to be announcing our second DoubleTree in quick succession.
