Swallow is the largest hotel chain in Scotland with around 40 properties, while its English portfolio consists of around another 100. Maidstone-based London & Swallow Group also operates inn and pubs. In total the administration order covers 671 sites with over 7,000 employees. Peter Gray, the chief executive who led the acquisition spree, left the business in August to pursue other interests.
