San Clemente Palace Venice reopens as a Kempinski hotel

Formerly operated under the St. Regis brand, this historic property converted from a monastery in the Venetian Lagoon is now welcoming guests as the San Clemente Palace Kempinski Venice.

Further to renovation works last winter, this unique hotel is now welcoming the first guests under its new brand for its inaugural season through November 8, 2016. The property has 190 rooms and suites, with a noteworthy addition: the newly built San Clemente Suite, featuring a living room, two bathrooms, and panoramic windows boasting views of the Venetian Lagoon. With three bars and three restaurants, the hotel offers comprehensive culinary options. The property also has several meeting rooms, a pitch and putt golf course, a tennis court, as well as an outdoor swimming pool.

Kempinski's latest address is located on San Clemente Island, between the Lido and the Giudecca island in the Venetian Lagoon. This 17-acre oasis boasts private docks, historic monastery buildings, a church dating back to the 12th century, as well as parks and gardens. The hotel is easily accessible from the center of Venice, a 10-minute trip by luxury speedboat from Piazza San Marco.

With 74 hotels representing a global capacity of 20,626 rooms as of January 2016, Kempinski ranks among the Top 50 hotel operators worldwide in terms of number of rooms. The San Clemente Palace Kempinski Venice is the brand's first address in Italy. According to data published by MKG Consulting, the group's European portfolio comprises 32 hotels for a totaling of 5,581 keys across the continent.
