Accor, in partnership with other hospitality industry leaders including Hilton, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, and Radisson Hotel Group, is proud to announce the co-founding of the Hospitality Alliance for Responsible Procurement (HARP). This alliance is a continuation of Accor's commitment to sustainable procurement and aims to help reduce the Group's carbon emissions.

Procurement is a key element in the sustainability of the hospitality industry, as it has a significant impact on the environment, society and governance. HARP's objective is to measure and improve the sustainability performance of the hospitality industry's supply chains by providing rating tools through EcoVadis and shared assessment methodologies.

Accor, through its international referencing centre Astore, has long understood the power of purchasing to promote sustainable development. The company applies rigorous processes to select responsible suppliers, complying with the Accor Responsible Purchasing Charter. This charter, which has been in force since 2017, is regularly updated to keep pace with regulatory changes and the Group's commitments. Using supplier risk mapping based on social, environmental and ethical criteria, Accor guarantees that its suppliers comply with these standards through a robust monitoring process.

Procurement is also key to many of Accor's sustainability commitments, including the elimination of single-use plastics and the promotion of responsible eating in restaurants and bars. Procurement has also enabled the referencing of green energy to reduce energy consumption in hotels and head offices.

HARP will accelerate supplier responsibility in the hospitality industry and reinforce eco-responsibility, contributing to Accor's ambition to help its suppliers meet the challenges of sustainable development. This initiative demonstrates Accor's ongoing commitment to sustainability and its leadership role in the global hospitality industry.

"Innovative initiatives, based on solutions that have an impact on our core business, are crucial to achieving the sustainable ambitions that the hotel industry has set itself. Accor is very proud to be part of this alliance, which marks another major step forward in our approach. We are delighted to be working creatively alongside major hotel groups and central purchasing bodies, and I am convinced that this collaboration will generate value for both our suppliers and our customers, and enable us to reduce our environmental footprint." - Caroline Tissot, Accor Group Purchasing Director
