Romania has a great potential for tourism with the region of the Danube Delta, Transylvania and its medieval cities, the Black Sea and Bucharest. In addition, the Carpathian mountain range covers one-third the country. The country has a long tradition of spas and resort activities on the shores of the Black Sea.
Its main feeder markets are Germany, Italy and France. However, overnights registered in Romania declined between 2007 and 2015 despite increasing international arrivals; this probably results from a decline in long-stay business trips.
