
The hotel group recently announced the appointment of Rajit Sukumaran as Chief Development Officer (CDO) in the AMEA region (Asia, Middle East, Africa).
A graduate of Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University, where he received a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Rajit Sukumaran began his career in the Corporate Finance division of PricewaterhouseCoopers.
He has twelve years of experience in the US hotel group Starwood Hotels & Resorts. As a former Senior Vice President of the Acquisitions and Development department in Asia-Pacific, he has led the growth and development of Starwood's ten distinctive brands in the region.
IHG is a multinational hotel group created in 2003 that currently operates 271 hotels for 6 different brands in the AMEA region. These include InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Hotel Indigo and Staybridge Suites. 149 other hotels are expected to open in the next three to five years.
